Let me know when we get a better DK game than games like Odyssey or Bowser's Fury (and by that I don't necessarily mean sandbox/open world DK, I mean in terms of originality and what those games did to improve Mario's gameplay, a more accurate comparison would be something more like Yoshi's Woolly World/Crafted By "no gimmicks" do you mean they can't do something like Woolly World/Crafted World? Because I think that's exactly the kind of approach the DKC games need.

That style of gameplay would fit DK well and would be fairly unique for Nintendo (Nintendo doesn't really have any IP in that style aside from maybe Platinum's Nintendo exclusives and they're not really big on platforming), and could take a similar approach to what Pokemon Legends Arceus is doing, bill it as a side game, test the waters to see if people like it, and if it's successful, continue that style for future games and perhaps even integrate it into the 2D That's not really a high bar to clear. Something that's a mix of 3D platforming and combat. My thoughts is to have a 3D subseries (basically serving as DK's 64/Sunshine/Odyssey, Metroid Prime, Pokemon Legends, etc.) that plays like God of War, Knack, or the Werehog gameplay from Sonic Unleashed. That being said, I think the best way to shake up DK would be a 3D game, but one that's very different from what people expect. I also don't think sandbox/open world really suits DK that well. Just something original that actually has impact on the gameplay.Īnd no, it doesn't necessarily need to be 3D, nor do I think 3D is the magic fix (it sure doesn't seem to be for Kirby). Create new Kongs and Animal Buddies that can interact with the level in new ways (and not just for the occasional optional secret like Cranky did it TF). Give DK some type of new move or gimmick that shakes up the gameplay. DK really needs to do something new gameplay wise. Returns and TF are the NSMB of DK games, they're nice little nostalgia trips but they get pretty grating because they don't truly do anything new.

Wed 29th Sep If anything Tropical Freeze seems overrated.
SUPER DONKEY KONG 3 BANDAI CARD SERIES
The series has sold over 65 million units (as of March 2021) worldwide to generations of fans. Since then, the Donkey Kong game series has continually delivered more games on Nintendo video game systems, such as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Wii, and Nintendo Switch. Nintendo’s Donkey Kong franchise started with an arcade game in 1981 and quickly captured the hearts of fans around the world.

The new milestone was noted by Nintendo as part of its press release announcing the Donkey Kong expansion headed to Super Nintendo World: Since then the series has been seen on a wide range of Nintendo systems, including the NES, the Donkey Kong Country series on SNES, Donkey Kong 64 on N64, plenty of handheld ports, and most recently Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze on Switch, as well as many others. The game saw Jumpman, who would later go on to become Mario, climbing a construction site to save Pauline from Donkey Kong himself – yes, DK wasn't always the lovable gorilla we see today. You probably know the story by now, but Donkey Kong was first brought to life by none other than Shigeru Miyamoto back in 1981, when the very first game in the series hit arcades. Nintendo has revealed that, as of March 2021, the Donkey Kong series of games have sold a whopping 65 million units worldwide.
